and the winner is….

Last month I ran a competition to win your wedding photography for a vintage themed wedding in association with the lovely Annabel over on Love My Dress and I’m very happy to announce that the lucky winner is Rhona Bergin!

I just completely fell in love with Rhona’s entry:

“Once upon a time a girl from near Glasgow met a boy from Newcastle. They took their time getting together, but when they did, she tried to persuade him to move back to Glasgow with her…it only took her 6 years! Glasgow must have been their lucky charm, because just after their 7 year anniversary he proposed…

“They decided they wanted to have a teeny little ceremony and meal to share with only their close family and friends at the very beautiful One Devonshire Gardens, then move on to somewhere suitably retro and fabulous to throw a party at night (well, they are Geordie and Glaswegian after all…). They want to dance to northern soul, funk and a wee bit of reggae.”

“They imagined Audrey Hepburn in ‘Funny Face’ meeting Jay Gatsby for cocktails. They decided he would look dapper in a bow tie and braces. She decided she wanted a vintage-y palette of blush, antique gold and pink. He laughed at her and said ‘blush’ wasn’t a real colour. She had a bridal strop, but only a little one. She was soon brought round by the idea of a 50s style dress (with pockets!), a birdcage veil and sparkly super-high shoes…perhaps Louboutins if she was very good.”

“She dreams of mismatched floral teacups with delicate roses in them balanced on piles of haphazard old leather-bound books, anemones in little gold Moroccan tea glasses, macarons and big, squishy cakes on vintage glass cake stands and bottomless French martinis. They imagine everyone smiling and dancing til their feet hurt and starting their life together as Mr and Mrs…on April Fools’ Day 2012. They need all the help they can get…”
