Hello there! Thank you for visiting my little website and wanting to find out a bit more about me!
My name is Caroline Weiss and I’m the photographer behind CandySnaps Wedding Photography. I came to live in the UK from Germany in 1998 and have made my home in bonny Glasgow Scotland for the past 5 years. I was inspired to establish CandySnaps Wedding Photography after catching the wedding bug photographing a friends wedding in Brighton. I just totally loved the experience and being able to give them photographs that were creative, fun and informal and captured their special day and their personalities was just wonderful. Receiving a big fat hug and my Brides crying tears of joy when presented with their wedding photographs is the perk of the job to me.
I totally ♥ what I do and I go about my profession with an eye for the moment. I believe in offering a friendly and personal approach through good customer service and a relaxed atmosphere.
According to my clients, my super power is being able to become invisible. They tell me ‘I can’t believe you captured this, we didn’t even realize you were there!’ I am also extremely patient (in my job) and fun (always!) to have around on their special day and I feel this makes my clients all the more relaxed in front of my camera. I don’t ever shout at guests or boss anyone around BUT I do have a very loud whistle which comes in rather useful when herding everyone for a group shot
I have been professionally photographing people, cats, dogs, the occasional hamster, buildings and everything else in between for the past 11 years. In 2004 I graduated from Brighton University where I was awarded a BA (Hons) degree in Editorial Photography.
My work has been published in various wedding magazines and on wedding blogs and I am a very proud selected member of both the WPJA (wedding photojournalist association) and Love Olio (the directory of the most creative wedding photographers in the world).
Apart from enjoying spending my weekends traveling around the UK for weddings I enjoy decorating my new flat, drooling over design websites, cooking, drinking yummy wine, listening to rare vinyl, pottering around and spending time with my husband, daughter and our two cats Haggis and Neeps.
