Rhona and Darren’s wedding was a whole lotta fun! Starting off with a lovely little do at One Devonshire Gardens and then on to 29 in the square for an evening of fun and dancing. I loved all the little details, the gorgeous flowers by Sophie from I heart flowers, cute stationary by E.Y.I LOVE and just how the beautiful Bride and her dashing groom were full of smiles all day long. I always think it’s so special when I get to shoot a really small intimate wedding, even more so when it is a couple like Beverley and Paul who are just the loveliest people you’ll ever meet. They invited me to come and join them and their very bestest friends and close family to celebrate their wedding at Ardanaiseig – a romantic old country house in a place of almost surreal natural beauty, where the slopes of Ben Cruachan fall into the waters of loch Awe.

Another few frames from a recent pre-wedding shoot for your viewing pleasure. Today it’s the lovely Lyndsay and Robin. We started off in their new flat which is currently a building site undergoing total refurbishment and then went on a little walk through Kelvingrove park in the sunshine.

Now here as promised I’m making a start on blogging the gorgeous weddings I’ve shot so far this year in their full glory – starting off with Jane & Mike’s DIY – tastic wedding at the Ubiquitous Chip in Glasgow. You might have already seen the wedding featured on Rock N Roll Bride this week! If not go check it out!

Jane and Mike met working on the student newspaper at university. One of Jane’s friends was the editor at the time and she said Jane should volunteer because she would like the ‘hot boys’ that did the music section. And indeed she did! The lovebirds realised early on that they would both look totally out of place at a more formal, traditional wedding so they wanted to go for something a bit more relaxed – a day spent with their families and friends and with lots of good foods and drinks AND with a lot of home made DIY elements to the day. Mr Mike did all the stationery design with some ‘helpful’ back-seat guidance from Jane, they made vases from tins and books (idea here), fashioned the table plan themselves and got pom poms off the interweb. The tables were named after some of their favourite Seinfeld episodes as they bonded early on over a mutual love of watching Seinfeld and eating sandwiches in their pants. Jane and her sister made the favours (chocolate covered pretzels, mini apple pies and red velvet cookies) as Mike’s family are from America and they wanted to add a little hint of that.
